Welcoming Message

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I invite all of you to the 2nd Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Update Symposium (PEGASUS), organized by the Gastroenterology Hepatology Working Group and the West Java Branch of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI). This meeting will be held in conjunction with the APSPGHAN Gastroenterology Masterclass in the beautiful and inspiring city of Bandung, where we gather to learn, share, and connect as a community dedicated to advancing pediatric healthcare.

The field of gastroenterology and hepatology in children has witnessed tremendous progress in recent years, ranging from diagnostic innovations to therapeutic advancements. However, we also face increasingly complex challenges, including gastrointestinal diseases, liver disorders, and nutritional issues that continue to impact children across the country. These challenges demand evidence-based solutions, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous education to ensure we can deliver our patients the highest quality of care.

I am delighted to share that this event will feature renowned speakers, experts from Indonesia and beyond, presenting cutting-edge topics in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology. Their insights and expertise will inspire and empower us to bring new ideas and best practices into our clinical settings.

In addition to the scientific program, I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the unique charm of Bandung. Known as the “Paris of Java,” Bandung is a city renowned for its cool climate, stunning natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and delicious culinary offerings. I encourage all of you to take some time to enjoy the many tourist attractions and local cuisines this city has to offer.

In closing, I warmly invite all of you to engage actively throughout this meeting. Let us seize this opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the betterment of pediatric healthcare in Indonesia and beyond.

Thank you, and I hope you will join us in Bandung.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
